June Favorites.

Month Picture Recap and Favorites.

At the beginning of the month, some of Benji's family
came in town for a fast trip.
It was fun to have them.
To have our first official out of town guests stay with us
for a few days.
Then right after they left, my Dad came into town
to give us the car.

Benji getting a new car.
Somedays, I wonder if he loves the car more than he loves me.
Just kidding.
But he does spend a lot of time looking at it and doing stuff to it.
He even named it Alexis and says it is a younger sister to Steffen's car.
Now, no questions asked we take his car wherever we go.
But, I am so grateful we were able to get him a new car before anything more
major happened to his old car.
And he is so grateful to have such a nice car and my Dad was willing to sell it to us.

My Birthday.
Enough said. We loved the whole birthday weekend celebration.
Cupcakes and all.

Family pictures.
One of the things I was super excited about before getting married
was family Christmas cards and doing Christmas photos.
I had been on the hunt of someone to take pictures
long before February 19th.
Then when I found someone I learned she was moving at the end of July,
so after much convincing to Benji we needed them even though
we have a TON of wedding pictures
I booked us a session.
I am so excited to see how they turned out.
We had so much fun with her this past week.

Also, we are very excited to announce I have accepted a job offer with
Melaleuca!
I will be in the Forecasting Department as a Forecasting Analyst.
I start on July 5th.
I am sad to be leaving Northwestern Mutual,
but am very excited to stretch myself at Melaleuca.
So, it is for sure we will be here in Idaho Falls for the next 2 years.

Learning and Growing.

As a little and sometimes, even big girl, we dream of our prince charming,
and what he is going to be like and what life is going to be like with him.
We dream of it continually. I don't know of any girl who doesn't.

I am so lucky to be a princess to the man I come home to everyday.
And I get treated like one everyday.
As we are learning about marriage and figuring out what works for us,
I wouldn't have it any other way.
Continually learning and growing together.
Creating family traditions for our small family of two.
Developing our routine together,
as husband and wife.
As a family.

I came across this quote the other day.
Absolutely loved it.
Realized how true it is.
How we choose our love, and from then on it is work and
everyday we must make the choice to make it work and love it.
Even on those trying days or times in our marriage.
And during those times we learn to deal with those trying days.

Sunday Walk.

The Weekend I turned 22.

Its a double digit year.
This year is going to be filled with magic.
I can just feel it.
I am excited to see the changes and adventures that are going to take place.

And, yes you read right. It was a birthday weekend celebration.
Dinner at our new favorite restaurant.
Right on the river.
We found a new place for our Sunday walks.

Can you tell I just took a bite? Benji is great at getting those candids.

Cupcakes at the yummiest and cutest little shop that I have become obsessed with.

What I came home to on our kitchen counter after work.
Benji always does good with the flowers.

Quote Love.

Sometimes the Lord calms the storm, and sometimes He lets the storm rage and calms His child. We learn lessons from storms that we cannot learn from calm seas. When we find ourselves in these storms, we should remember we don't have enough energy to complain and still keep our head above water. Our duty is to swim, not wonder or complain. We need to get to shore and must leave the reasons for the storm with the Lord. If all the effort we put into asking why were used in swimming, a lot more of us, with His help, would reach shore.

What I'm Loving Wednesday...

This Wednesday, I am loving...

My Mom.
She always knows of the right things to say and how to say them
when I need to hear to.
I think it is so funny when she says she wants to skype, but I love it.
She is always supporting us in everything we do.
Never misses a thing, always cheering us on.

This song.
I know I already mentioned it in another post,
but I think I had it on repeat my entire drive to Boise today.
Seriously.

Pretty Little Liars Season 1 on DVD is out.
That means Season 2 starts next week.

Summer is HERE! We are excited.
At work I randomly get the urge to go to the beach or even go swimming.
Which is weird I am normally not a fan of doing either of those things.

Netflix. We have been watching so many movies recently in the Grigg household.
And recently I have been staying awake for the whole movie,
and Benji is the one who is falling asleep.
Normally it is switched for us. I am pretty proud of myself.

Benji's cuteness.

Just thought I would share some of these pictures of Benji growing up.
It is so funny to me to see how his face has hardly changed over the years.

Photo Wall.

Before Benji and I got married I read decorating blogs like crazy.
Trying to find decorating ideas I liked and we could do on a budget.
I was continually copying pictures of photo walls.
I knew that was something I wanted to do.

Then when we moved into our house I couldn't decide on a wall that would work.
I bagged it. Then we continued to come up with pictures that I wanted to hang up
with no where to hang.

So, this is what we came up with.
As Benji was hanging them up, he decided he wanted to get enough pictures to cover the whole wall.
Next in the future I want to do this.

Songs on repeat in the Grigg household: this and this. Love.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday!

I decided to start doing my own awkward and awesome thursday,
done after this blog.

Awkward:

- Waking up in the night thinking that the lights went out,
and Benji sleeply telling me they didn't because the light on the tv was still on.
- Trying to sneak into work when you are running late hoping no one will really realize what time it is,
and then having the whole office here you stumble on your feet.
- Wearing a THICK long sleeve sweater in June.
- Getting a new phone system at work,
and hanging up on people regularly.
- Sitting on the couch with Benji playing halo, while I watch makeup tutorials on YouTube.
- Recording my own voicemail at work.
- Turning on our air conditioner one day,
then the next day turning on the heater.
- Twitter. Enough said. I created an account. Not really sure why.
I am still trying to figure out how it all works and what the purpose is other than to stalk people.
- Going grocery shopping with Benji for the first time in weeks and coming home with way more stuff than what was on the list. Thanks to him.

Awesome:

- Benji picking me up from work for lunch, there are some benefits with having car troubles.
- Trying a new recipe for dinner then the next day craving leftovers to have for lunch.
- Getting a compliment on your makeup at work
when I felt like I put it on haphazardly this morning.
- Getting to spend the weekend with my Dad, brother, and other extended family in Utah.
- Learning new blogger tricks. I feel like a whole new person.
More posts coming your way.
- Our new couch cover! Love Ikea!
Benji acted like he was a little kid on Christmas when brought it back after my Utah trip.
Black corduroy, instead of the white that came with the couch as seen here.

Summer Adventures.

The weather has finally started to turn nice and
slowly becoming more like summer.

In celebration, Benji and I decided to make ice cream in
our ice cream maker we got as a wedding present.

It didn't turn out quite like we wanted,
but it still tasted pretty good.

In excitement for summer and the good weather we are having,
I checked the weather at work.
This is what is to come....

Snow really? We are in June.
This is the weather for at home.

For more reasons than one I wish we were in Texas...
