Thanksgiving Week.

Dress got picked up then taken to get alterations.
I can't wait to finally have it have it.

After many phone calls to Stylart and UPS
all of the announcements
finally got delivered.

Then most of the announcements
got put together.
I can't wait for them to finally get in the mail.

Benji and I registered. Target and Dillards.
We had an interesting experience
at both places, but so much fun at the same time.
Benji got into registering just as much as I did.
Seeing him get excited got me even more excited about it all.
I am so blessed to have someone who cares about me
and all our home decor.

Benji is almost a true Texan.
He tried true Texas BBQ, Blue Bell ice cream,
had a kolache for breakfast,
driven and dealt with crazy Texas roads and people.

Thanksgiving dinner was spent with my Mom's family
in Dallas,
which is always an interesting experience,
but still fun.

Copper, our dog, now has a new best friend
(which is hard to make happen).
I know Benji is excited to come again in February
to be reunited with his new friend.

Met with the wedding planner and DJ
to finalize stuff with them for February!
83 days!

Had lunch with a friend from high school and her boyfriend.
Oh, how I loved catching up with her.
Benji and JT had a blast spending time together also.

Bought Hobby Lobby out on
black frames.
Came up with even more decor ideas for our apartment
after we get married.

Took Benji to the airport early,
for him to be in Denver
when his brother got home from his mission.
I may or may not have shed a tear or two
when I dropped him off.
I was on cloud nine the whole time he was here.
I can't wait for the time to come again when I get to be with him everyday,
like I am used to.

Cut down the Christmas tree.
(Pictures will be coming soon.)
Saw Harry Potter.

Now, dreading going back to a normal week.

The. Outfit.

This past week Benji got his suit
for February!

Seeing him trying it on
and examine it in excitement
made me even more excited
for my dress to come in and
February to be here!

Isn't he such a stud?
I sure think so.

The. Weekend.

This past weekend I was able to go to Rexburg
to celebrate mine and Benji's one year anniversary!
Big deal. I know. It was pretty exciting.

All weekend long we did random fun stuff.
Thursday, Benji made me the most delicious salmon and
fried zucchini for dinner.
I now love both of them!

Then we got hot chocolate and went to the gardens
where some of our first date took place and FROZE
while we were there talking.

Friday we spent the day with Benji's best friend, Steffen.
I am pretty much marrying both Benji and Steffen.
They are seriously two peas in a pod and attached at the hips.
And I love it!
I always have so much fun whenever the three of us hang out.

We made caramel apples together.
Benji and I are now pros at making them.
They turned out so good.

The rest of the weekend we just hung out doing random stuff.
I loved it!

Now I can't wait for Saturday to come for Benji to spend
the whole week to Texas for Thanksgiving!

How time flies.

A year ago from today, I had been at school for 12 hours. I was tired. More than tired I was exhausted. I was ready to go to bed, but still had several different things I needed to do for school and I was supposed to go on a DATE, a BLIND date.

That semester I had not gone on too many dates, which I was completely ok with, because I had become so engrossed with my classes. I loved school. I loved doing my homework. I involved myself in my classes as much as I possibly could. I loved it.

The two girls who were trying to make this date happen had been trying for me to meet this boy for weeks, but every time something was arranged I was either too busy or that day I just didn’t feel like it, so it took weeks for this it to finally happen.

Reluctant and very unwanting, I went on this blind double date. It was supposed to consist of the boys making dinner, and then going to watch the boys play basketball, and then do something later that had been undecided. After such a long day at school, I decided I would just go to dinner and skip out on the basketball game to work on homework, but really it was because who wants to sit on the ground to watch two boys that you don’t really know all that well get stinky and sweaty by bouncing a ball back and forth, not me. So I went home to work on homework during the game.

Then dependent on how well dinner went, I would decide to do this after game thing that had yet to be decided. Dinner went as well as a blind date dinner can go, so I decided I would do the after basketball game plans, which ended up consisting of getting hot chocolate and going to this place on campus called the gardens to talk to get to know each other, just he and I.

As we sat in the gardens, we talked and laughed about our families, our lives – future and past, what we wanted in our future, school…you name it. As the night quickly came to an end, I knew I wanted to know more. So, that night became the first of the many nights and many hours he and I would spend together.

A year later, I am anxiously waiting for the day (100 days!) to be sealed for time and all eternity to that same boy. I am at a point in my life I thought I would never be at. Honestly, I thought I would NEVER be here.

I had always dreamed that one day I would be the girl I am today, the woman I have become, almost married to my best friend, and graduated from college, with everything that I was ever worried about then all figured out. I do not have to worry about what my major is going to be, or who I am going to marry, or if I will have any friends, or if I will have nice roommates, or if I can handle my classes. I made it through all that, somehow. It definitely was not the easiest phase of my life, but somehow I got here.

Quite frequently, Benji and I talk about how things would be different if we had met earlier in the semester or if we had met before his mission and we both know things would not have worked out as well as they have.

I am so grateful for the Lord’s timing and hand in all things and the ability he has to bring people into our lives when we need it the most. I am so grateful for good friends and the ability they have to sometimes see things when you don’t. I am grateful for the man I am to marry and all the things he does do and has done for me, from the beginning. He has become my best friend better than I could have ever asked for.

As I head to Rexburg this weekend to be with Benji, I could not be any happier and anxiously cannot wait to spend the rest of eternity with him.

I am thankful.

I am thankful for my parents.
For their unconditional love and support
they always give.
For their willingness to always listen.

I am thankful for my siblings.
Heather, Eric, Anthony, Rachel, and Matthew.
For the wonderful example they each give in different things.
For how some of our best times together we are doing the simplest things.

(missing Eric in this picture)

I am thankful for Joseph.
For the way he has our whole family wrapped around his finger
and brought us even closer.

I am thankful for Benji's family.
For the way they have shaped the person Benji
has become.

I am thankful for Benji.
For the person that he is.
For the example he gives me on a daily basis.
For his loyalty.
For the love he gives.
For the way he treats me, truly like a queen.

(it was a little windy the day we took this picture)

I am thankful for the gospel.
For the light and truth it can bring into your life.

I am thankful my Redeemer lives.
For the blessings that can bring into our life.

Officially Done.

This past week was my last week at my internship.

No more long drives through the mountains,
to get to Coalville.
No more eating of the delicious potato and cheese soup
from Denise's on Tuesdays.
No more sitting in meeting's to determine what
department is going to get what.
No more seeing my Uncle everyday.
No more getting teased about random stuff.

It feels good to be done,
but at the same time kinda nerve wrecking
because until February I don't really know what I am doing.
But only time will tell.

Now just to wait for my diploma.
Oh it feels weird to really be done.

Tis the Season.

"Sincerely giving thanks not only helps us recognize our blessings, but it also unlocks the doors of heaven and helps us feel God’s love. ... We can lift ourselves and others as well when we refuse to remain in the realm of negative thought and cultivate within our hearts can attitude of gratitude. If ingratitude be numbered among the serious sins, then gratitude takes its place among the noblest of virtues. Someone has said that “gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.”

Halloween Surprise.

I had the best halloween,
really one of the best weekends.

On Friday about 9:30,
I had the best person peek his head around my door
to see what I was doing.

Benji surprised me and came down from Rexburg
to spend the weekend with me.

The rest of the weekend consisted of spending time
with our families and just being together
laughing, and doing random things.

Benji's new favorite store is Ikea.
I am now craving the burrito bowl from Chipotle
and animal style fries from In-N-Out burger.

I will definitely being going
to both places again soon.
