fireworks, baking, cupcakes and the like...

We had a wonderful long holiday weekend with my Mom in town.
The weekend was spent baking, playing marbles, shopping, firework watching, pedicure getting and boat riding.

in the last 24 hours...

we have had popcorn, sour gummy worms, ice cream and a granola bar for dinner.
got in touch with our emotional side in a movie theater.
was locked out of our house in the snowing 30 degree weather.
was told by a 6 year old we cuddled too much in the movie.
purchased a 23 dollar bag of apples by accident. Better be dang good.
started the newest season of our White Collar obsession.
benji has been victorious in 3 games of marbles.
froze ourselves out of our house as ALL the doors were opened to get the wood lacquer
scent out as Benji made a marble board.
no pictures were taken.

(little anniversary picture i found while going through my computer looking for stuff)

Festive.

This weekend as we were wandering around Wal-Mart and Target
we had to, of course, look at the Christmas stuff.
We got really festive.
And decided to put up our Christmas tree and put a wreath on the door.
We decided to get a few ornaments from Target
until we get my other holiday decor
that is longing to be put up in the Grigg home
from Utah.

Happy holidays.

rearranging.

We decided to do some rearranging Sunday.

Please ignore the wreath.
Its a work in progress.
And a pain to hang up.

Here is what it looked like before.

Photo Wall.

Before Benji and I got married I read decorating blogs like crazy.
Trying to find decorating ideas I liked and we could do on a budget.
I was continually copying pictures of photo walls.
I knew that was something I wanted to do.

Then when we moved into our house I couldn't decide on a wall that would work.
I bagged it. Then we continued to come up with pictures that I wanted to hang up
with no where to hang.

So, this is what we came up with.
As Benji was hanging them up, he decided he wanted to get enough pictures to cover the whole wall.
Next in the future I want to do this.

Songs on repeat in the Grigg household: this and this. Love.

Picture Overload.

I have finally finished unpacking/decorating/working on our place.
House tour begins.

Living Room.

Stairwell.

Kitchen.

I am still on the hunt for a cute round tablecloth.
I was going to try to make one then this happened.
Let me know if you see one, please.

Benji's bathroom.
Yes, we have separate bathrooms.
I have a lot of bathroom stuff with very little space.
We also have separate closets.

Guest Bedroom.

This bookshelf is a work progress.
In February, as Benji was packing our car we had to choose wedding presents or my collection of books I have in Texas.
Benji choose our wedding presents.
So, this bookshelf is anxiously awaiting books.
Hopefully, we be here later this month.

Our Bedroom.

My bathroom.

Big news for Utah. Check this. I am pretty excited.

Dressing Room.

I have always wanted to someday custom design
our house.

I have dreamed of having a huge walk-in closet
but then I came across this the other day.
Now, I have decided I want a whole room.

As Benji dreams of his tv/gaming room,
I dream of my dressing room.

I have already decided on the color scheme
I want to use.

My love for Ikea and Target has just doubled
after seeing everything she got there.

Domestication Skills.

The Blakeney's on my wedding day.

My sister, Rachel is the perfect wife and mother.
She always somehow finds good deals for everything she buys.
She always has dinner at least cooking when Anthony gets home from work.
Benji is lucky enough for me to have decided what we are having for dinner when he gets home.
She has all the patience in the world for Joseph.
She is always trying DIY projects.
And she sews.

For the three months, before I got married when I was living at home
I spent pretty much everyday with Rachel.
Sometimes going over there multiple times a day.
Alot of the time she would tell me about a sewing project she was working on
or about to start or wanted to do.

After hearing about all these different sewing projects she was working on,
I decided when Benji and I moved
I was going to take my sewing machine.
The one I haven't touched in like 7 years.
No joke.

The other day Benji tells me for this table in our bedroom
he wants a table cloth.
Trying to be a good wife I get all the supplies.
I get everything pinned, just waiting for Benji to get home for him to see
it and make sure he likes it.
When he gets home he starts asking me if I could sew it a certain way.
A fancy way.
Not completely confident in my sewing capabilities,
I am a little hesitant and then he tells me he can sew
and if I can't do it he will.
So I agree.

The next day I get started hemming all of the edges.
About to get started on the complicated part,
when Benji gets home from work.

I go upstairs. I am gone for 10 minutes.
Then when I come back
TWO big chunks of fabric have been cut out.
And I have a very frustrated husband.

Then the next day I try to make it all work with
the fabric cut out of it.
Then I begin to become a little frustrated.
So I began to start making random cuts and tears at it.

After a few hours, I give up and just put what I have done
on the table in our room.

Needless to say, the sewing machine is getting put away for awhile
until I get some courage to pull back out again.

I am still working on my domestication skills.

Round 3.

(Sorry about the color being off for the first few seconds.)
My husband keeps me laughing.
And I really had to bride him to do this with me.
My southern accent is very apparent.
Husband 1 and Husband 2.

Day on the scooter in Mexico.

Benji got so into it the first time he wanted to make another vlog
immediately after it.

I want it all.

I have spent the past two days staring at
nothing and it gradually getting flatter.
My Dad and I drove my car down
from Salt Lake to Texas.

It all went by pretty fast, surprisingly.
I enjoyed being able to talk with my Dad
and get his wisdom and thoughts on things.

Friday before we left I had to go to Park City
and on my way I there it hit me
how much I have missed my car and Utah.
It made me secretly want to move back.

At dinner that night Matthew started talking about
an inverted pentagraph.
What the heck?
That is the reason he is going to be in school for the rest of his life.
Getting a million degrees and not me.

Ok ok....I have had loads of fun planning mine and Benji's wedding,
but seriously can it be here already?
I feel like time is going by so slowly then fast
but right now soo slow.

I.Pod Jam on repeat right now: Prove You Wrong by He is We.

Favorite.

Recently my new favorite store
has become
Hobby Lobby.

I get so excited whenever anyone
says anything
about needing to go.

If I had my car I would probably
go everyday.
No joke.

Every time I go I always come up with
more decor ideas
for the apartment
after we get married.
I knew I should have majored in
interior design in school.

Benji already has
a lengthy honey to-do list.
I just know he is super excited to
get it all started.

One day.

This weekend Benji and I started looking at furniture
for our house. Once we get it.

We both absolutely fell in love with this chair.

I love that he gets just as excited as I do about how we decorate. It makes me laugh.

I also decided someday I am going to have this chandlier.

So Excited.

I am so excited.
To decorate our cute apartment
after we get married.

I already have so many ideas of what I am going to do.

Now, if only we knew where we were going to live.

4 months. 3 weeks. 4 days.

Life of a College Graduate...

So I am a college graduate. Kinda weird...eh? Tell me about it. What have I been doing these past few weeks? Watching this little guy.

Its been fun but strangely I miss school. And I never thought I would say this but I miss Rexburg. Whenever I tell my Mom this she just laughs and says I really just miss Benji. Which is true, but a small part me of misses school.

I start my internship on Monday. We will see how that goes.

February 19th can't come fast enough!
