Ultimate.

And I mean
Extreme Ultimate Frisbee.

This semester, Benji decided to join an ultimate frisbee team.
Last Friday at his game it started snowing,
and they kept playing.
It was freezing.
It was super cold to begin with when the game started,
but then when it started snowing it got even colder.
After the game was over we rushed home and hurried to bed to stay warm.

First Day of School.

Today is the first day of school.
For Benji.
It still feels weird being out of school.

Saturday, after we went exploring we stopped in
Rexburg and saw some of Benji's friends.
We went to the apartment complex that I lived in for 3 years.
It felt interesting to be back there
and see so many people moving in and remember all the times I moved in.

Benji wouldn't let me take a picture as he was leaving for school.
Like you used to do in elementary school.
He is a party pooper.
Here is one Cassie took for us.

July Favorites.

This month has flown!
I can't believe it is already August!

Month Picture and Event Recap.

As seen here
we became official Idahoans.
And...
we are OBSESSED with our new phones.

I think we use them more than we use our computers.

As seen here
we loved our weekend that consisted of
our Jackson adventure and
my company picnic we attended.

Benji finished another semester of school!
Just 4 to go!
I am pretty excited for him!
With that, Steffen graduated!
Woohoo!
And moved to Dallas!
We are so excited to hear about his adventures there!

We celebrated a year since
Benji proposed!
Time always seems to fly!

P.S. Isn't he the cutest?
I love skyping with my family.

I wish and I am thankful!

Credit for today's blog post goes to Stephanie

I wish I could go could back to school and take more fun classes.
Like decorating, floral arrangement, and sewing.
I am thankful for my degree and the opportunity I was given to attend school and the internet and books so I could learn more about those things.

I wish my husband wasn't so crazy busy all the time, even more now that school has started again.
I am thankful for him and all of his hard work and everything he does for us.

I wish I lived closer to my family so the days when Benji was gone all day I could hang out with them.
I am thankful for skype and how I got to see them for a little bit on Saturday and for the person who invented texting and cellphones so I can talk to them whenever.

I wish Idaho Falls was a bigger city. Sometimes it doesn't cut it when I want to get something.
I am thankful for the family environment Idaho Falls does have.

I wish I could be a professional shopper. Like everyday, all day. Just get whatever I wanted when I wanted it.
I am thankful for those times when I can treat myself to get those things
I want to get and how much more excited I am.

Over? Can't wait!

2010 was a pretty eventful year
but I can't wait for 2011 to come!
I know it will be just as exciting and rewarding
as 2010 was!

As I think back to everything that happened during the past year
I truly cannot believe how much happened!

In January flew out to Denver to celebrate Benji's birthday with him
after only dating for 2 months.
Flew back again in February.
Became an aunt.
Completed yet another semester of school.
Flew back again in April.
And drove from Denver to Salt Lake.
And loved it.
(I normally despise road trips.)
Benji met all of my Dad's side extended family.
Got engaged.
Completed another semester of school.
Had majority of my family in Rexburg to see me walk.
Benji got to meet the rest of my family.
Went back again to Denver in August.
Took our engagement pictures.
Completed my internship.
Moved back to Texas.
Benji finally came to Texas for Thanksgiving.
Started new jobs.
And kept waiting for February 19th to come...

My BYU-Idaho Days.

The other day as I going through my computer
looking for something I came across
some notes from one of my finance classes,
about becoming the best person you can be.

As I began reading them and remember
distinctly the discussion and the Spirit
in the room,
I became very grateful for my education,
BYU-Idaho, the faculty, and
Rexburg,
even though much of the time I was there
I dreaded being there.

Grateful for the faculty.
For the ability to respect them not only
for what they had accomplished
professionally, but spiritually as well.
For their willingness to help,
and truly get to know you.
For the ability to have a spiritual discussion and
moving personal spiritual experience
in any class.
Truly, any class.

Grateful for BYU-Idaho.
For the office I worked at
and how the people there truly treated us, students,
like family.
For devotionals.
And many times what was said in devotional
was exactly what I needed to hear that week.
And how more than once during devotional time
my prayers were answered.
And how in the beginning of my Rexburg days
I could count on Tuesday from 2:00 - 3:00 pm
to be the motivation to keep going.

Grateful for Rexburg.
For how different it is from Houston
and what I grew up with.
For teaching me to embrace the
small town community.
And how I could never live in a small community
for the rest of my life, but I can appreciate it.

How time flies.

A year ago from today, I had been at school for 12 hours. I was tired. More than tired I was exhausted. I was ready to go to bed, but still had several different things I needed to do for school and I was supposed to go on a DATE, a BLIND date.

That semester I had not gone on too many dates, which I was completely ok with, because I had become so engrossed with my classes. I loved school. I loved doing my homework. I involved myself in my classes as much as I possibly could. I loved it.

The two girls who were trying to make this date happen had been trying for me to meet this boy for weeks, but every time something was arranged I was either too busy or that day I just didn’t feel like it, so it took weeks for this it to finally happen.

Reluctant and very unwanting, I went on this blind double date. It was supposed to consist of the boys making dinner, and then going to watch the boys play basketball, and then do something later that had been undecided. After such a long day at school, I decided I would just go to dinner and skip out on the basketball game to work on homework, but really it was because who wants to sit on the ground to watch two boys that you don’t really know all that well get stinky and sweaty by bouncing a ball back and forth, not me. So I went home to work on homework during the game.

Then dependent on how well dinner went, I would decide to do this after game thing that had yet to be decided. Dinner went as well as a blind date dinner can go, so I decided I would do the after basketball game plans, which ended up consisting of getting hot chocolate and going to this place on campus called the gardens to talk to get to know each other, just he and I.

As we sat in the gardens, we talked and laughed about our families, our lives – future and past, what we wanted in our future, school…you name it. As the night quickly came to an end, I knew I wanted to know more. So, that night became the first of the many nights and many hours he and I would spend together.

A year later, I am anxiously waiting for the day (100 days!) to be sealed for time and all eternity to that same boy. I am at a point in my life I thought I would never be at. Honestly, I thought I would NEVER be here.

I had always dreamed that one day I would be the girl I am today, the woman I have become, almost married to my best friend, and graduated from college, with everything that I was ever worried about then all figured out. I do not have to worry about what my major is going to be, or who I am going to marry, or if I will have any friends, or if I will have nice roommates, or if I can handle my classes. I made it through all that, somehow. It definitely was not the easiest phase of my life, but somehow I got here.

Quite frequently, Benji and I talk about how things would be different if we had met earlier in the semester or if we had met before his mission and we both know things would not have worked out as well as they have.

I am so grateful for the Lord’s timing and hand in all things and the ability he has to bring people into our lives when we need it the most. I am so grateful for good friends and the ability they have to sometimes see things when you don’t. I am grateful for the man I am to marry and all the things he does do and has done for me, from the beginning. He has become my best friend better than I could have ever asked for.

As I head to Rexburg this weekend to be with Benji, I could not be any happier and anxiously cannot wait to spend the rest of eternity with him.

Officially Done.

This past week was my last week at my internship.

No more long drives through the mountains,
to get to Coalville.
No more eating of the delicious potato and cheese soup
from Denise's on Tuesdays.
No more sitting in meeting's to determine what
department is going to get what.
No more seeing my Uncle everyday.
No more getting teased about random stuff.

It feels good to be done,
but at the same time kinda nerve wrecking
because until February I don't really know what I am doing.
But only time will tell.

Now just to wait for my diploma.
Oh it feels weird to really be done.
